Cree company announced its LED XLamp mass production launch. These LED lamps  provide minimal light flux 100 Lm at 350 mA, the first LED lamps with such characteristics available on the market. LED lamps open new opportunities in solid-state lighting market and form new standards for light efficiency and performance index.

For last 17 months Cree considerably improved electrical and optical features of the LED lamps. Compared to previous generation of XR-E7090 LED lamps, new ones provide 55% increase in light efficiency and performance. Moreover, they are backward compatible with previous versions including ability to fit old slots.

Commercial availability of these LED lamps accelerates migration from traditional light sources to more reliable solid-state lighting

Using of 100 Lm lamps in lighting devices not only reduces cost, but also improves power consumption.
